When they're a little older, kids can turn even their Easter Sunday Best into playwear that's good for digging in the mud and romping around in the trees. Until they find ways to, though, you get to determine what's meant for play, what's for sleep, and what's for showing off to the relatives and neighbors.
So what do you put on your baby for playtime? Fairly simple, actually - for a baby who's not asleep or eating, pretty much every time can be playtime! So you put baby into whatever seems comfortable for playing, crawling, exploring, and generally just looking cute. Mostly, though, this section belongs to Rompers.
Yeah, this is a little confusing if you've seen our Bodysuits page, where we mention that Bodysuits are frequently called Rompers. That happens because not everyone knows the difference. A bodysuit is a long shirt that fastens the back of the shirt to the front between the baby's legs and snaps at the crotch. It's a one-piece outfit without legs. A romper can be thought of as a bodysuit with short legs. The legs don't go all the way down to the ankle, or even the knee, but instead are attached to be sort of a "short-sleeved" kind of leg. It's a one-piece outfit that leaves freedom of movement, but has the addition of the little leg starts instead.
So why aren't there any rompers in this section right now? That's because baby playwear and rompers are a category that we're about to start into, so we've set aside the space for it. In the meantime, we've filled this category with cute items that will work as baby playwear or as outfits on their own! We can easily imagine a little baby bouncing around in a playpen wearing almost any of our outfits, but most especially those that we've selected for your baby Playwear category.
